Publishing Agreement

The Gender Security Project aims to publish the written works of women and non-binary people in the areas of gender, peace, and security, transitional justice, and feminist foreign policy. All authors who submit their work for publication to the Gender Security Project you agree to the following terms between the author and The Gender Security Project:

Authors submitting articles / monographs and other content for publication represent and warrant to The Gender Security Project that,

  • They have legal capacity to agree to this Publishing Agreement,

  • They are the author of the work,

  • The work is original and has not been previously published,

  • There is no previous agreement to publish the work with any other publisher,

  • The work is not currently under review with another publisher,

  • No part of the work infringes any copyright,

  • The work is not unlawful and contains no statement known to be false or libellous,

  • The work does not pose a danger to the life or security of any person, including the author(s), and,

  • Submission gives consent to the work being published, with the understanding that it cannot be ‘unpublished/removed’ at a later date unless the editorial board becomes aware of any issues ascertaining to the points above.

 

If the work is accepted for publication, The Gender Security Project:

  1. May reproduce the work in any form,

  2. Will attribute the work to the author at all times,

  3. Will not charge the author any fees for publication

  4. Will not pay a royalty or honorarium to the author

  5. Will publish the work under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

  6. Will require you to attribute the work’s original publication on www.E-IR.info in any subsequent use of the work. You retain all other rights to the work.

 

Further, the submission of any content towards publication grants The Gender Security Project a Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license to the work. This means that non-unlimited non-commercial and educational uses of the published content by students, educators, authors, and non-commercial publishers in keeping with the terms of the license (as found on the link)

This Publishing Agreement will remain in force for the entire copyright term of the work. Authors agree to indemnify The Gender Security Project against any claim alleging facts that constitute a breach of any term of this Publishing Agreement.
