GSP Recommends: Issue 93

GSP Recommends is a weekly round up of news, reports, recommended readings, videos and podcasts from our desk to yours. If you think something should be up here but isn't, do write to us on with your recommendation and we will make sure to review it, engage with it, and add it up to one of our forthcoming lists.

Image: Plazoleta Bomberos Voluntarios mural by Lucas Quinto (with the help of La Boca art students and Professor Leonardo Reitman), La Boca. The strong artwork, which is influenced by Mexican muralism and Mayan artwork, is a tribute to the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. There are the mums of the 'leftists' who disappeared during the 1976-1983 'Dirty War' who meet in Buenos Aires' main centre to demonstrate in their children's honour (and, for some of them, in the hope that their stolen grandchildren will be told of their real identity). They began their weekly peaceful protests, during which they wrap nappy cloth around their heads as makeshift scarves, in 1977.
